Our client is a is a full-service health-system looking for an experienced hospital pharmacist to support the daily operations of the inpatient pharmacy in a 150-bed, level 3 Trauma hospital. This pharmacist will be responsible for verifying medication orders, supervising pharmacy technicians in the preparation and delivery of medications to the floors, compounding sterile products, actively participating in acute-care codes, providing clinical decision support for prescribers, dosing intravenous antibiotics including vancomycin or aminoglycosides, and verifying TPN orders. 

The Pharmacy director will act as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and each Pharmacist will assume responsibility of the patient care functions that are governed by the Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and all regulatory state and federal agencies. Employing intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills through the utilization of pharmacy processes, this Pharmacist will provide expedient and exceptional patient care as a vital member of the healthcare team through independent, interdependent and dependent roles within the healthcare system.

•Exceptional communication with all healthcare providers particularly for the sake of emergent patient care need and medication safety
•Comfort interacting with Patients admitted to the Emergency Department for Acute medical treatment 
•Comfort and skill interviewing patients, family members, medical providers, and outpatient Pharmacy staff in an effort to facilitate medication reconciliation 
•Proficient at Pharmacy order entry, verification of CPOE, and familiar with RN and MD charting within EMR  
•Pharmacy dispensing of THP and consultation/documentation for emergent patient need in the absence of outpatient pharmacy services 

Job Requirements

Qualifications for the Clinical Pharmacist Position: 


Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy in the United States    


Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital pharmacy experience required

Completion of a 1 or 2 year Accredited ASHP residency program or Pharmacy Board certification preferred    


Active and unencumbered Pharmacist License from the state of CA required

ACLS and PALS required on hire or within the introductory/training period or no later than 120 days.
